3Dimensional Physical Therapists are Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialists, Sports Clinical Specialists and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists. Our staff have worked at professional sports tournaments, local athletic competitions, presented at national conferences, and teach continuing education courses for other therapists throughout the country.

Treatment Philosophy:

As technology improves and more research is available, I have been able to simplify my treatment strategies based on what has been proven to be effective. Experience also plays a major role in how I approach things. I still look at how the body has to function despite any limitations. Many times the painful area is caused by another area of the body. I like to address daily habits such as posture and sleeping positions since they can be a source of chronic pain. If someone can push, pull, lift and carry with proper technique, the chance of injury is significantly reduced. I still enjoy listening to patient’s stories and working with them to solve their problem to reach their goals. I feel as though I have learned several tips and tricks over my career that I can use to build an effective treatment program for anyone.

Personal Interests:

I think I am addicted to work. My life is still as busy as ever! Running three businesses takes most of my time. The drive to be better never subsides / dissipates. I still enjoy the benefits and challenges of teaching continuing education to other PTs around the country. I cherish my free time and enjoy spending time with family, traveling and meeting up with friends. My two kids are in their 20’s and have career-oriented jobs while my wife only has a few years left until she retires. Any other free time I like working on projects in my garage, golfing, cycling and bowling. I still have a lot on my bucket list but I need more time!

Treatment Philosophy

I am a strong believer that our bodies are mechanical in nature and are prone to breakdown. Our daily habits, movement, and activities lead us in to consistent patterns that produce asymmetry, weakness, and dysfunction. Finding the root cause of that dysfunction, which leads to pain and injury, is crucial for recovery. Being creative with movement strategies, being willing to explore options and being focused on fixing the cause of dysfunction helps lead us back out of painful cycles.

I am confident that strength and mobility are key to living healthy, active lives and that there is no reason these factors cannot be improved. Blending hands-on care with purposeful, forward-thinking strength and mobility exercises optimizes recovery and helps us get back to the activities we love.

Personal Interests

I am actively learning to live with kids and am a tinkerer by nature. I learn by doing and am excited to “just get going”. I enjoy working on home remodel projects and constantly have a slew of projects at various stages of completion. I don’t sit still well. I love the outdoors and hike, cycle, and kayak when I’m able. My family travels often and we hope to teach our daughters that the world is a lot bigger place than just our neighborhood.

Treatment Philosophy

The emphasis in my practice has been and always will be to treat the person in front of me as a whole person. I help people move better and feel better by integrating my knowledge of modern strength and conditioning principles with the Movement System Impairment (MSI) approach to rehab, which prioritizes treating faulty movement patterns that cause injury rather than simply managing symptoms of an injury. I enjoy helping patients create healthy changes that fit their lifestyles to improve the quantity and/or quality of movement that will help my patients return from and prevent future injury while enhancing overall quality of life. My goal is to have each of my patients leave feeling stronger and more in control of their health with a better understanding of how to move more and move better.

Personal Interests

Outside of the clinic I enjoy hiking around all the beautiful national parks our state (and country) has to offer, traveling when I can, trying out new restaurants, and cooking for my friends and family. Every now and then I even dust off my old boots to play soccer with my brothers and old college teammates or go for a run around all the incredible spots we have here in the North End. My goal in the next few years is to travel internationally to see the world with my fiancé, run a destination half marathon, and become a certified nutrition coach to provide another aspect to my care to help my patients achieve their health and wellness goals.

I believe a person should be physically ready to tackle their individual physical pursuits whether it’s their daily work, a high-level sport, or enjoying activities with their family. Maintaining strength and flexibility is essential to overall health and wellness. They should be strong in positions in which they may feel vulnerable to injury and resilient enough to recover and continue with their activity. When injuries occur, an appropriate rehabilitation program can instill a sense of resilience in a person, allowing them to trust their body again and come out on the other side of rehabilitation stronger. Accomplishing this entails tailoring a rehabilitation plan to the individual and considering their current strengths and weaknesses in addition to their own goals.

Personal Interests

In my free time, I enjoy just about anything outdoors. I am often out hiking and mountain biking year-round while snowshoeing and snowboarding in the winter. I also enjoy playing recreational sports such as softball and basketball.

Treatment Philosophy

I started my career in health and wellness coaching athletes both in group settings and individually. I have found that there are benefits to both avenues, however individual programming offers a more tailored program pertaining to a person’s strengths and weaknesses. Seeking the help of a physical therapist is no different. Addressing your individual dysfunctions instead of just doing a bunch of stretches or exercises found online will provide a more direct path for your return to life, activity, or sport. In working with an injured person, my goal is to begin the reintegration and return to their preferred activities. Having experience working with athletes at all levels including Olympians, NFL prospects, collegiate varsity athletes, tactical athletes, and weekend warriors, I understand that each person has unique requirements and functional demands. Though my passion is working with the athletic population, I enjoy the opportunity to work with anyone, regardless of their athletic background. My motto is as follows: “Every person is an athlete with their needs varying by degree, not kind.”

Personal Interests

I am very active outside of work. I have done marathons, triathlons, and I compete in local CrossFit competitions. I also enjoy cooking, gardening, and pretty much everything that will get me to spend more time outdoors. I rarely just sit back and relax and would rather be working on my house’s many remodeling projects. As a new transplant coming from Boston, I am always looking to travel and experience all that the West Coast has to offer.

I strongly believe the human body is resilient, adaptable, and responds significantly well to loading along with movement. The longer we stay active and moving, the healthier life we will have. We are all prone to injury regardless of how well we treat our bodies. As an athlete, I know that injuries sometimes seem to derail our lives. The last thing anyone wants to hear is that they have to give up doing something they love. I love finding where someone’s dysfunction comes from, teaching them why they may be experiencing pain, and keeping them doing what they enjoy. Through education comes understanding of how differently our bodies can respond to pain and injury. Empowering people how to fix their pain is the most gratifying part of being a physical therapist.

Personal Interests

I enjoy spending time with my husband, Nathan, and two fur children Max and Russell. When we aren’t working, you can typically find us at the CrossFit gym we own in Puyallup. Then on the occasional days off, we also enjoy days out on the lake wake surfing, traveling, hiking, or playing softball.
